Intro / About

Hospitals across Bulgaria are facing growing financial pressure, while pharmaceutical companies continue to benefit from public healthcare budgets. Why does this imbalance exist, and where do EU State aid rules draw the line?

This webinar explains how hospitals may unintentionally carry costs that benefit the pharmaceutical industry and whether this is allowed under EU State aid regulations. Participants will learn practical approaches to cost allocation, pricing, and hospital cost calculation
in line with EU requirements. The goal is to help identify risks, ensure compliance, and support more sustainable healthcare financing.

Experts from Aachen University Hospital (Germany) and Healex, a German clinical research technology company will share hands-on experience in calculating clinical trial services in line with EU State aid rules. The session will also cover negotiation strategies with sponsors, real-life examples from daily hospital practice, and digital workflows for EU State aid–compliant cost structures in clinical research.

  • Marc Dohmen – Deputy Director of the Study Center, Aachen University Hospital / Germany (Uniklinik Aachen)
